I’m Ali, turning 65 this year, and I’ve spent over 40 years in the fitness industry—though I didn’t start out as the “typical” fitness instructor.
My own health challenges, including arthritis, surgery, and weight struggles, inspired me to create classes and training that are accessible, enjoyable, and effective for real people with real bodies.
Over the years, I’ve introduced STEP aerobics to the UK, worked with the NHS on post-natal exercise and pain management, and mentored countless instructors. But my true passion is helping people—especially women over 45—stay strong, mobile, and confident through every stage of life.
Today, I run classes, personal training, and the AHA Club (Ali’s Healthy Ageing Club), supporting others in navigating exercise, posture, pelvic floor health, and menopause with honesty and humour.
My philosophy is simple: don’t live your life just to be fit—be fit enough to live your life.
If you want an instructor who’s real, relatable, and endlessly enthusiastic, come join me.
Have been going to Ali’s classes for sometime now. She helps me to maintain my fitness, flexibility, mobility and strength. I often don’t feel like going but I am ALWAYS thankful that I did. Her classes are most carefully planned and Ali remembers the physical idiosyncrasies / operations/injuries sustained/weaknesses and conditions that may compromise our fitness. She always has alternatives or modifications if we struggle with a particular exercise. Every class is different and a variety of equipment is used; Weights, resistance bands, Eggballs , straps, bars, and mat work. Ali is a dedicated Fitness Professional who, while experienced over many years, is always imparting new thinking and the latest theories on health and diet which will further help to to consolidate and improve the fitness of her clients. She is top of her game – ’nuff said.
Ali is the most professional, knowledgeable nutcase PT. She makes it her business to thoroughly know and understand your body and its needs and will have you screaming with both laughter and pain ( in a good way)
Exercise classes are not for me .. or at least that’s what I thought until I met Ali! I’m unfit, haven’t done a class for over 30 years, dodgy hip, 2 dodgy knees , osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. I met Ali at a talk she gave and she persuaded me to try one of her classes. She even set a new class up near me! Whilst I still have all my health issues I am SO much better and fitter. She has this unusual ability to work out exactly what an individual needs without making you feel useless – a real confidence booster. She has encyclopaedic knowledge of fitness and the body which inspires confidence. I should probably add that we laugh a lot, too, which is great therapy in itself. She is such a terrific person and I can’t recommend her highly enough.
My balance has improved, I’m more flexible and my shape is so much nicer – I have a waist and thinner thighs and my posture is so much better. I feel much more alive and vibrant. If Ali can do this for someone who has always avoided exercise……
I can’t wait to get to class each week which is extraordinary as I’ve always hated exercise classes because they always made me feel a failure. Ali’s classes are different. They’re fun whilst challenging and the positive results are easy to feel and great to see.
Week by week class exercise are so varied you never get bored. Ali really does make exercise fun and achieves great results.
